The Online Bar Application Checklist And Application Copies

The Checklist is an overview of the supplental documentation that an applicant must submit to the Board office after he\she submits the online application. The Application Copy is a detailed listing of all of the responses an applicant has entered into his/her online application. Applicants should be sure to print\save a copy of both the Checklist and his\her Application Copy so that they can use them as guides in gathering any required supplemental documentataion for the reivew of his/her character and fitness.

To view your Checklist or Application Copy at any point while you are in the online application, do one of the following:

(1) From the forms menu at the top of each screen, select "Checklist" or "Application".

(2) From the Payment Options screen, click the "Checklist" or "Application" link.

Once submitted, applicants can return to the online application to retrieve their Checklist or Application Copy information. The screen will show as depicted below depending on whether or not the online application was paid for via credit card or check/money order.

Once an application is accepted by the Board staff, an applicant can still return to the online application to retrieve his/her Checklist or Application Copy information.

In the event an applicant is unable to view their Checklist, he/she should NOT contact the Board office for the information. The only documenation explained on the Checklist which is of a timely concern is a Certificate of Good Standing. Bar exam applicants need to have this documenation supplied the Board office PRIOR to sitting for a bar examination. Detailed information on the Certificate of Good Standing requirement for bar exam applicants can be found in section (A) of Rule 203 or section (1) of Rule 205.

Any other missing documentation needed for an applicant's application will be explained in a mailed letter and/or message. An example of the letter is provided below (please note, this example may not apply to all applicants):
