The contents of the Examiners' Analyses and Sample Answers are intended solely for use by applicants as a study reference. They are not intended for sale or distribution. If you would like to obtain a license agreement to freely distribute the Examiners' Analyses, contact the Board office for details. No licensing agreement is available for the Sample Answers. The contents of the Examiners' Analyses and Sample Answers are not intended nor do they constitute legal advice and should not be used or relied upon as such in dealing with any specific legal matter.

The Examiners' Analyses reflects an in depth analysis of the issues raised in the question complete with case citations and statutory references. The Examiners' Analysis is intended to assist applicants in reviewing questions by providing detailed references to the relevant principles of law. The Sample Answers for each question were derived by combining overall good answers to each issue on the essay exam from applicants who took the bar exam.

It is not required that an applicant's answer to an essay question necessarily contain a similar amount of detail or analysis as is contained in the Examiners' Analyses. Nor is it required that an applicant's answer contain case citations or statutory references to constitute a good answer. The Sample Answers represent examples of overall acceptable responses to the issues raised in an essay question. However, since the contents of the Sample Answers are derived from actual answers from applicants, it is possible that a response may contain some extraneous or incorrect information, and still be representative of an overall acceptable response.
