COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT - Updated May 6, 2020

The Board has rescheduled the July 2020 bar exam to September 9 and 10, 2020, as described in this press release (pdf). Additionally, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has authorized a limited license for July 2020 bar exam applicants.

Candidates who have filed an application to sit for the July bar exam are automatically registered for the rescheduled date. Candidates who wish to sit for the Pennsylvania exam must file an application by May 30, 2020. Registration will not be extended. To ease concerns, the Board has eliminated late fees for applications.

Applicants are reminded that character and fitness documentation, including fingerprinting for the purpose of our office getting criminal history records, is not due before the bar exam. It is important that applicants seeking accommodations for the exam submit their request forms and documentation in a timely fashion so that adequate plans may be made for any approved accommodations.

The Board staff will continue to work remotely until further notice. Staff have ability to telework, but do not have the same access and ability to conduct all processes.

We continue to wish you good health.
