Applicants sitting for the bar examination who have a medical condition, such as diabetes, heart disease,
epilepsy, pregnancy or other condition that might require medical attention should notify the Board by
uploading a medical alert form with the Board office.
Applicants that require the use of medical equipment
(e.g. wheelchair, crutches, insulin pump/insulin test kit, eye drops, breast pump, hearing aid, inhaler, etc.)
or food during the examination, even if they are not seeking accommodations, must complete a medical alert form
and provide documentation from a qualified medical provider. All medical devices will be inspected by
Board staff at the examination site.
Medical conditions often affect appropriate seating assignments. Applicants must upload
medical alert forms no less than six weeks before the examination for the board to consider them
before seating assignments are complete.
Requests for testing accommodations, medical equipment or food submitted after the deadline will not
be accepted. Emergency requests will be assessed only with specific supporting medical documentation
and the decision will be at the discretion of the executive director. The executive director
will deny a late request when it is to have a different assigned seat, a private room, additional
time to test, or a change that would require an additional hire or new set of instructions.
